Wetlands International Indonesia Programme

 

Wetlands International Indonesia programme works in the district of Ende and Sikka,
The name project is PFR (partenrs for resilience) with the duration of the project until 2015,
its activities are integrating Disaster Risk Reduction / Climate Change Adaptation/ Manegement Restoration of ecosystem.
The activities will be implemented in this project are:

Resilience of Communities (Community Resilience)
a) Increased awareness on DRR/CCA/MRE through the establishment of volunteer community groups DRR/CCA/MRE

b) Implement community-based risk assessment, including the level of vulnerability and capacity
c) Development of DRR/CCA/MRE mitigation planning and preparedness in disaster preparedness
d) Identify and formulate a message "with" advocacy in an effort to form resilient to disasters
e) To assist in the process of integrating DRR/CCA/MRE in community planning, public rulemaking, including community involvement
f) Strengthen the institutional and financial capacity of community groups PRB
g) Conducting assessments of disaster risk reduction
h) Facilitate the exchange of knowledge between communities, providing technical assistance and documenting implementation practices of good
i) Facilitate the establishment of partnerships (science agencies, civil society) in order to maximize the contribution to community risk reduction plan

Strengthening of civil society groups
a) Increased awareness on DRR/CCA/MRE

b) Assessment of deep institutional
c) Improved institutional capacity and capacity thematic alliance partners
d) To assist in the mainstreaming of civil society by facilitating the exchange of knowledge among civil society groups, teaching, technical assistance and documentation practices that work well
e) Mapping of relevant civil society networks
f) Together identify the critical themes to be advocated, facilitated a policy and strategy, according to the issue and its location
g) Mainstreaming DRR/CCA/MRE civil society groups in the strategy of alliance partners
h) To assist in the establishment of partnerships with institutions of science
i) Strengthen the collaboration between the actors of environmental conservation, development actors, entrepreneurs, and government
j) Helping civil society groups to disseminate learning and good practices through a network.

Advocacy & Policy Dialogue
a) Mapping deep institutional district
b) Identification and development of joint public and media advocacy message (at the district / provincial / national government)
c) Encourage / assist local governments to assist community groups DRR/CCA/MRE

d) Establish / assist districts that support multi-party and multi-sector DRR platforms (including community groups, NGOs, local government)
e) Support the harmonization of policies and multi-sector coordination at district level
f) To support local governments in identifying models of good practice and bring them to the provincial government
g) Contribute to the national dialogue on the findings and models at the county level, the implications for policy, national legislation and global framework.
